Changing Times,Changing Needs:Online Education,Equality,Immigration,Diversity

During the past half century profound transition has happened in the world. As the time goes by the politic, economic and education systems are changing.  Today we evidence that all countries are facing real and difficult challenges in their education system. The parents are demanding high quality education for their children from the governments, schools and teachers. The education system must change to satisfy country’s and pupils’ needs. We still believe that education help our children to reach their full potential. But how can we build an education system that best develops the adults of tomorrow? This is not an easy task to build schools and train teachers that will meet the needs of the fast-changing World. In order to meet the needs of society and pupils in this fast-changing World, the interest has been drawn on online education, equality, migration and diversity.

The traditional method of teaching and learning, conducted in the classrooms is being eclipsed by online education and training. Many public and private education institutions are expanding their educational settings by including online programs. Equality and diversity is becoming more important in all aspects of our lives. Every child deserves an excellent education. Our future is at risk as long as we continue to allow poor schools and teachers to exist. Transforming schools into truly egalitarian institutions requires a holistic and integrated approach.

Today the immigration is among the most important issues facing the World. Immigration and education are phenomena that are indeed intertwined in many dimensions. Increased migration poses new challenges for countries including social cohesion and integrating minorities. Fair and inclusive education for migrants and minorities will play a key role to these challenges.During the past half century transnational human mobility has been increased.  With the globalization the artificial borders have been removed between the countries. We have to begin viewing ourselves as members of ethnic groups of the world, and accepting new ideas and practices from other cultures.

Based on above changes and needs requirement, EJERCongress2017 has determined the main theme of the congress as “Changing Times, Changing Needs: Online-Education, Equality, Immigration and Diversity”.  We hope, that the presentations and discussions that are to be presented in our congress will contribute to the implementation of strategies, plans and policies for the solution of these problems that societies can encounter.
